Tales from the Park City is a tribute to the hard-working people of Bridgeport and the city they love. It contains over 40 images of old Bridgeport thanks to the University of Bridgeport, Barnum Museum, Fones School of Dental Hygiene, and the Bridgeport Public Library. As a travel writer, I focused on the stories of local people in the landscape they built and lived in. I could not have asked for a more exciting location. Bridgeport is truly a city of stories, and a hundred books could have been written on its amazing and varied history.

Writing this book would not have been possible without the kindness and expertise of Kathy Maher at the Barnum Museum and Mary Witkowski at the Bridgeport Public Library. Thanks to them and dozens of others, Bridgeport's history continues to resonate in our present lives.
